It’s September 1, and we’ve been back to school here at the University of Georgia since mid-August. We met the wonderful students in this year’s entering class during our first in-person MBA Orientation since Fall 2019 and we are back to in-person classes. Even with the precautions we have in place, it is an absolute pleasure to see students in-person. We hadn’t really “met” the rising second years (or, the Next Years, as we call them over the summer), never mind the incoming first years! Seeing them all reminded us about one of the things that makes Georgia special: its people. We had strong application seasons for Fall 2020 and Fall 2021 and competitive applicant pools, and the current classes are the largest, most experienced, and most diverse in many years. Even better, we are seeing strong outcomes for the Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022. Great internships, job offers, and our compensation has steadily increased year-over-year.
Even before MBA Orientation started, the Admissions team began recruiting the Fall 2022 class. Like everyone else, we are still adapting to the changes brought by COVID. We’re rolling out our fall events schedule for off-campus virtual events, virtual Campus Visit Days, and creating a safe option for individuals to visit campus, so keep checking our Events page for details. There are many ways to learn more about our program and connect with us:
Athens is thriving in spite of the challenges faced in the last year. The first football game of the season is this coming Saturday, though out of town. The first home game is Saturday, September 11! I hope many of us choose to watch from home, but it will be fun to enjoy a “normal” activity again. If you are visiting Athens on your own, here are 2 resource to help you plan your visit: Athens Welcome Center and Visit Athens, GA.
We look forward to meeting everyone through one of these virtual events and hope to show you around the Business Learning Community soon!
